Position of Home Rule after the outbreak of WW1

Haven't posted in a while - been rather busy! Wondered what you thought about the position of Home Rule concerning the outbreak of WW1 in 1914. Do you think it just got forgotten about? It was said to be suspended until the end of the War but how were they to know when the War would end? Was it a deliberate dismissal of Home Rule, using WW1 as an excuse? What do you think?
